Star Chart progression and spoiler-light quest order

Progression feels confusing when the Star Chart, quests and open worlds all compete for attention. The correct next step is usually displayed in game: complete the accessible Junction path and investigate the next main quest. A guide should explain what to check without spoiling plot events.

Start with the current Junction screen

Selecting a Junction reveals the tasks needed to proceed and the rewards it offers. Complete those tasks and nearby nodes, then revisit Navigation. Junctions changed repeatedly, including a 2025 redesign, so use the current requirements instead of memorizing a static list of planets or bosses.

  1. Select the next Junction and inspect each task.
  2. Claim available milestone rewards.
  3. Return to the Codex after unlocking a new planet.

Separate side content from story blockers

Open-world hubs and faction activities are valuable for specific equipment and resources, but they can be left for later. If a main quest requires a blueprint, faction rank or location, follow that requirement. Otherwise, do not grind a whole syndicate solely because its icon has become available. Optional quests can still be worth finishing for equipment you plan to use.

  1. Verify requirements in the Codex.
  2. Do not mistake an optional activity for a story prerequisite.
  3. Use the item browser to locate crafting materials.

Prepare for a long story quest

Some later story quests require Railjack, Necramech or other systems and may commit you to a long sequence. Check the quest warning, own the required equipment and ensure that its Mods are usable before you begin. The official quest guide provides a current overview of story arcs without requiring you to read detailed spoilers.

  1. Finish equipment preparation before launching the quest.
  2. Keep one stable Warframe and weapon build.
  3. Avoid opening plot-heavy wiki pages if you want a blind playthrough.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find the next quest if I feel stuck?

Look in the Codex for the current main quest, then inspect its listed prerequisites. If a planet is inaccessible, select the relevant Junction and read the required tasks. The quest order and Junction requirements can change in updates, so an old list may conflict with the game. If you are missing crafting materials, use the item browser to locate known sources rather than repeatedly trying unrelated missions.

Do I need to finish every planet or open-world bounty before continuing?

No. Complete the paths and quests required to reach your next goal, then return to optional content when it offers a weapon, Warframe, faction reward or resource you want. Some later features, including Steel Path, require substantial Star Chart completion. Treat those as separate milestones rather than a reason to grind all optional activities before making any story progress.
