Practical farming guide

How to farm Void Relics without wasting runs

Prime parts are usually a two-stage farm: first obtain a relic that contains the part, then open that relic in a Void Fissure mission. Refining the relic may improve its rare-reward chance, but it adds a third cost: farming Void Traces. A farming route that ignores one of these steps can look much faster than it really is.

1. Identify the specific part and its relics

Open the item catalog, search for the part you need, and look for its relic acquisition sources. A relic with a similar name is not proof that it contains the right blueprint. Always check the reward table. If you need several Prime components, add the missing parts to the farming planner to discover shared routes.

Separate relics you already own from relics currently obtainable through mission rewards. Older relics may stop appearing in current acquisition tables, while an existing relic in your inventory may still be opened. Verify availability in the current game and official drop-table information.

2. Compare the cost of getting the relic

A listed drop probability applies to a specific reward attempt, not automatically to every minute played. For example, a relic with a hypothetical 20% chance every six minutes averages five qualifying attempts, or about 30 minutes. A second source with a 10% chance every two minutes averages ten attempts, or about 20 minutes. The smaller chance can be more efficient because each roll is faster. These are illustrative numbers, not live Warframe relic probabilities.

Check whether a source pays out on mission completion, an endless reward rotation, or a different event. Include loading, travel and extraction time. One successful relic-acquisition roll is not the same as one successful Prime-part reward roll.

3. Choose a refinement based on your target

Standard refinements include Intact, Exceptional, Flawless and Radiant. Refining a normal relic with Void Traces increases the relative odds of uncommon or rare rewards; it never guarantees the item you want. Refinement to Exceptional, Flawless and Radiant normally costs 25, 50 and 100 traces respectively.

Compare the increased reward chance with the time needed to earn traces and replace the relic. For a common reward, higher refinement can be counterproductive. For a rare reward, refining may be worthwhile, but use the specific relic's reward table rather than assuming that all relics have identical target chances.

4. Open the relic, then evaluate the result

Use the live fissure view to check a compatible Void Fissure. Select the relic, collect the required Reactant and finish the mission. In a squad, successful relic openings present reward choices from participating players, increasing the possible options. The benefit depends on what each player brought and rolled.

If you still need more copies, reevaluate the next run using the current fissures and your remaining relic inventory. An open fissure can expire and market prices can change. A saved plan is a guide, not a promise that a mission remains active.

5. Estimate a realistic session length

Count time acquiring relics, collecting traces, opening relics, and switching between missions. A one-copy average is not a reliable high-confidence deadline. For repeated independent attempts, use the free drop chance calculator to compare expected attempts with 90% or 95% confidence. For multiple items, use the planner to account for shared sources instead of multiplying unrelated one-item averages.
